May be you’ve given up gluten for a few weeks and you think you felt better but you’re not really sure?
How do you know if you’re actually sensitive to a particular food like gluten?
Gluten sensitivities are becoming increasingly common today for many reasons, some of which are due to the hybridization and processing of modern wheat as well as the use of glyphosate on our crops.
And if you’ve been part of my community for a while now, I’am sure you’ve heard me talk about intentinal permeability or “leaky gut.” (Last month’s newsletter was all about it). Gluten plays a huge role in promoting leaky gut. Read Dr. Alessio Fasano’s research on the role of a leaky gut caused by the wheat protein gliadin in the pathogenesis of several pathological conditions.
Unfortunately, there are not reliable tests in conventional medicine for gluten sensitivity and they do not test for the entire gluten proteome that’s why I find the Wheat Zoomer test so valuable in figuring out if gluten is problematic.
The Wheat Zoomer is a food sensitivity test that shows if you have elevated antibodies to wheat peptides (more specific than the whole protein) as well as antibodies that indicate leaky gut or intestinal permeability and inflammation. This is actionable information that we can immediately use to make impactful changes to your health. It’s important to note: just because you have a sensitivity now doesn’t mean you’ll always have a sensitivity. We can work on your immune tolerance in your gut to help resolve some food sensitivities.
